FANTASTIC Joel.  It looks great.  '40 Tudor with no hood. That thing just oozes early 50s!

A little update... I don't know who knew this, but I tore out 1st gear (about 4 teeth) last August and now the '40 is on the road again.  Look for it terrorizing a neighborhood near you!

Note to self: The '40 will be painted Hot Hues Sierra Gold just like George Poteet's '40 pick 'em up.

True hot rod thinking Tom.

Joel & Tim, I've got that similar color that will go on my A some day. It's figured out to be a base/clear.  The sealer serves as the base color. Saves one step and comes out in that gold candy.

This pic looks a little orange, but outside its that pagen gold look.

I got the original formula from John Kosmoski in HOK formula and I figured it out in PPG Global.  Can probably be done with Deltron as well. The HOK formula is the one Brizio's painter uses for all those great gold cars.

No Jake...true hot rod and DRIVEM thinking!!!  I have spent as much as 10 and 12 hours straight driving to or from an event in some of my piles. On a hot July or August day that cowl vent can be dam important. Oh yeah........ cars with AC aren't hot rods!!

And Joel I like the color.

The cowl vent will be great on those July/Aug days.....but I'd duct tape off the louvers during July/Aug.....

I could paint both of my hoods gold... That way I can simply switch them in the hot months from the louvered one to the non-louvered one...

Jake- I'll be happy to have your expertise on hand when the '40 gets painted.  It will be very nice to have the facilities at NDSCS to paint in too!
